TRAVEL INFO

Getting here
Moab can be a pain in the ass to get to. If you are within a day’s drive (or longer if you like road trips), consider driving so that you have a car to get around.

Flying: Salt Lake City and Denver are the closest major airports: they are each ~ 5 hours from Moab and have car rentals. There are two small regional airports—Canyonlands Regional Airport and Grand Junction Regional Airport—that are very close, but depending on the fickle whims of airline pricing, these airports may add money or time to your trip. Worth playing around with different combinations!

By Rail: There is an Amtrak line from Denver or Salt Lake to Green River, Utah, 45 minutes from Moab.

Shuttle service: Moab Express can pick you up at the airport or at the Green River Amtrak station and take you to your hotel.

Getting around town: Once you’re here, if you are without a car there is Moab Area Transit, a free transit service that runs around town and works like an Uber (it’s great!). There are also multiple bike and e-bike rentals that are a lot of fun including Pedego Moab and Bike Fiend. Our wedding venue is bikeable from town.

Extending your trip:
Moab is a pretty fun place to be, and the weather will be nice around this time. If you want recommendations on what else to do, call Sam at 614-202-9965. He loves to talk about this sort of thing.

LODGING OPTIONS

We have endeavored to book blocks of hotel rooms at some places that will allow you to walk around town:

Apache Motel
There is a block of discounted rooms at the Apache Motel, a few blocks from our house. Call and ask for a room reserved for the Newman-McGuire wedding. The Apache provides some bikes for their guests to get around. If they’re being weird to you on the phone, let us know!
(435) 355-0636

Moab Valley Inn
If that fills up, we’ve got another block of rooms at Moab Valley Inn, towards the south end of town. Ask for a room with the Newman-McGuire Wedding.
(435) 259-7141

AirBnB
If you want more space or to share a house with others, Moab has many overnight rentals. Rim Village is a condo development south of town with lots of room, and there are many others.

Camping
Our wedding is taking place at a popular time of year, so many first-come-first-serve sites may be occupied. We reserved a group campsite for those that want to camp at Ken’s Lake Group Site B (map) from Friday to Sunday. It’s 20 minutes from town, has cell service, a lake you can swim in, and is close to some easy hiking. This site has vault toilets and no running water, so plan accordingly. It can accommodate a tent, car camping, or small trailers or RVs. Please indicate that you’re planning to camp on the RSVP form! Thanks!

GIFT INFO

With so many people taking time out to travel to our wedding, we’re not putting together a registry — we’re grateful to you already! If you’re so moved, you can send us a contribution to our happy home by clicking here. <3. If you have a specific gift in mind, we’ll be happily surprised.
