I don’t come from a lot, but I was able to buy the paper through the goodwill and generosity of the former owners and my one chunk of inherited wealth (thanks Mom!). It’s a privilege and, even through I just squeaked it through, I’m so grateful.

Now comes a lot of hard work, starting with reimagining myself as a business owner and not an employee. No more backseat driving, no more passive voice and telling people what I would do if I was boss. It feels weird, but this is just what I wanted.
